Healthy For Good Heart Walk, 8 a.m. registration and activities, 9:30 a.m. walk, West Creek Parkway, 12575 West Creek Parkway, Richmond. Features a 5K or 1-mile course, wellness expo, kids’ activities and Hands-Only CPR training. Stroller and pet friendly. Rain or shine. Sponsored by the RVA American Heart Association. “Akeelah and the Bee,” 10:30 a.m., The Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive, Richmond. Follows spelling prodigy Akeelah as she travels from the south side of Chicago to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. $20. 282-2620,

Powhatan’s Festival of the Grape, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Historic Courthouse Village, 3800 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan. The 15th anniversary event features Virginia wine, arts, crafts and brews, along with live music from Route 64 and Inside Out. $15-$20/ advance, $20-$30/gate.

29th Annual 2nd Street Festival, 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m., 500 N. 2nd St., Richmond. Celebrate the culture of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood. Continues on Oct. 8. Free.
